MIROSLAV KULTYSHEV (piano)

Miroslav Kultyshev was born in 1985 in Leningrad. In 2004, he graduated from a special secondary musical school Miroslav Kultyshev at the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg Conservatory (under the direction of Z. Zucker). In 2009, he graduated from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory (under the direction of A. Sandler). He is now a postgraduate at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory.

Kultyshev began performing on stage when he was just 6 years old. At age 10, he debuted at the Grand Hall (Bolshoy Zal) of the D.D. Shostakovich Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, where he performed Mozart's D Minor Concert with orchestra under the conduction of Yury Temirkanov.

Miroslav Kultyshev has won numerous international competitions and festivals for young musicians: competition of Heidens' Fund (1993), A Step to Mastership (1995), Traditions and Modernity (Grand Prix, 1995), the Moscow Festival of Young Pianists named after H. Neuhaus (1998), Virtuosos of the Year 2000 (1999), and Expectations of Russia (Grand Prix, 2000). In 2001, the young pianist was honored a Triumph - a Russian Independent National Prize Grant. While studying at a musical school, he held a fellowship from the Philharmonic Society of Saint Petersburg. He also held a fellowship from the New Names international benevolent program (1998), and the International Charity Foundation of Y. Bashmet (1999). He also took part in a program of the international charity foundation of V. Spivakov.

Miroslav Kultyshev performs on a regular basis in the best concert halls of Saint Petersburg and Moscow. He has toured Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Great Britain, USA, Holland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Finland, Japan, Korea and other countries. Among the conductors who have invited Miroslav Kultyshev to participate in their concerts are Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Yury Bashmet, Mark Gorenstein, Konstantin Orbelyan, Vasily Sinaysky, and many others.

The musician has also participated in many international festivals, such as, Kissinger Sommer (Germany), Elba - Musical Island of Europe (Italy), Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festspiele (Germany), Saint Petersburg Palaces, Saint Petersburg Musical Spring, Spilberk Festival (Czech Republic), Bratislava International Musical Festival (Slovakia), and the Chopin Festival (Poland).

In the summers of 2006 and 2007, Miroslav Kultyshev had a traineeship at the Holland Music Sessions International Academy as a participant in the master-classes of M. Voskresensky and K.-H. Kemmerling.

In 2007, Miroslav Kultyshev received a Silver Medal and Second Prize Miroslav Kultyshev at the XIII International P. I. Tchaikovsky Competition, although he was actually the winner as there was nor a first prize given for piano.

Miroslav Kultyshev's greatest success and one of the most important stages in his career was his solo recital at the Grand (Golden) Hall of Musikverein in Vienna on 5 November 2007. Details:
