The five-concert series of "Outlines of Chopin" is dedicated to the bicentenary of the birth of the great Polish composer.
In the proposed cycle almost all the piano works of Frederic Chopin will be performed. As performers for this cycle, which consists of 5 concerts, the organizers have chosen the class of the professor of St. Petersburg Conservatory Alexander Sandler. His current and former pupils Peter Laul, Stanislav Soloviev, Pavel Raykerus, Alexander Pirozhenko, Miroslav Kultyshev, Ekaterina Humeniuk, Edward Kiprsky and many others are the real pride of St. Petersburg piano school and represent our city at various international competitions and concert venues in many countries.
In the first concert of the cycle we will hear two nocturnes (Op. 48), Sonata № 3 in B minor (Op. 58) and four scherzos performed by the famous St. Petersburg pianist Peter Laul.
Peter Laul was born in a family of musicians in Leningrad. He graduated from St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov (Class of A. Sandler), where he currently teaches. He is a winner of numerous international competitions. Peter Laul performs in the best halls of St. Petersburg and other Russian cities, solo and with symphony orchestras. He tours also abroad and performs regularly in Germany and France, Spain, Belgium, Estonia and many other countries around the world. Being a soloist he collaborated with orchestra of St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Moscow Symphony Orchestra, State Symphony Capella of Russia, North-West German Philharmonic Orchestra, orchestras and theaters of the cities Dessau, Bremerhaven and Oldenburg, the orchestra Les Sekl, as well as many other teams under the leadership of such recognized masters as: M. Shostakovich, Valery Gergiev, Eri Klas, F-K. Kasadesus, Nikolai Alexeyev, the F-Ks. Rot and others.
